The difference between these three types lies in their features, watts, and price. So, let us read further to know about the types and features of the oven.

Solo Microwave Ovens

Do you want to save your time by heating your food on the gas top? Then, Solo microwave ovens are the time savers for you. A solo microwave oven is considered as the basic or the entry-level of a microwave oven. It is used to reheat the food and beverages. You can also cook noodles and defrost the frozen foods. Also, you can use this microwave oven for cooking rice and pasta.

Moreover, these ovens can be used both for commercial and domestic kitchens. The solo microwave ovens use watts to convert energy into heat which helps to cook the food. The combination of turntable and watts together heats and cooks the food evenly.

Watts Used by Solo Microwave Ovens

As we know that solo microwave ovens use watts for cooking and eating food. Therefore, it tells us that, higher the watt and faster the speed of cooking. If you use these microwaves in domestic kitchens, the watt range lies between 550 to 1500 watts.

Apart from this, the most common wattage for solo microwave ovens is 1,000 watts. Now, if we talk about the price of this oven, then it may vary depending upon the watts.

Oven Capacity

The oven capacity refers to the space provided for cooking and heating the food. Therefore, in the case of solo microwave ovens, the oven capacity ranges from 0.5 – 2.5 cubic feet.

You can easily place these microwave ovens on the countertops. Besides, they can also be mounted underneath a cabinet to save some space.

Grill Microwave Ovens

Are you fond of grilled food but want to avoid burning the grills outdoors? Well, grill microwave ovens are the best kitchen appliance for you. A grill microwave oven can do everything that a solo microwave can do. In addition to this, it can grill pizza, fish, and chicken.

There is a grill heater and additional accessories which grill the food items in this microwave oven. Moreover, the special grilling coils allow the food to grill, roast, and toast it. You just need to push the grill button to begin the grilling process. Apart from this, the grill microwave ovens are expensive as compared to solo microwaves but not as much costly as the convection microwave ovens.

Watts Used by Grill Microwave Ovens

The wattage range used by grill microwave ovens lies between 900 to 1,700 watts. Furthermore, the grill microwave ovens work just like the solo microwave ovens. The more watts they consume, the faster they cook. Apart from this, the price variation depends upon the wattage of the oven.

Oven Capacity

In comparison to the solo microwave ovens, the capacity of grill microwave ovens is quite less. It lies between 1 and 2.5 cubic feet.

You can conveniently place these microwave ovens on a countertop, mount them over a range, or attach them under a cabinet. Moreover, if you buy a mounted oven, you may get some additional features such as vents, fans, and lights.

Convection Microwave Ovens

If you want to heat, cook, grill, and bake your food, convection microwave ovens are the best to purchase. Moreover, you can use these microwave ovens in your domestic as well as commercial kitchens. These microwave ovens use a different heater and a fan combination for cooking the food.

In the case of solo and grill microwave ovens, there is a metal box that directs the watts towards the food to cook it. However, convection microwave ovens push heat through the microwave using a fan to create a better cooking environment.

Watts Used by Convection Microwave Ovens

The wattage range of convection microwave ovens lies between 800 to 1,700 watts. Moreover, the wattage is important, but the cooking time does not depend upon the watts as the technique is totally different as compared to solo and grill microwave ovens.

Apart from this, there is no correlation between the price and the watts of the convection microwave oven.

Oven Capacity

The oven capacity of a convection microwave is similar to that of a grill microwave oven. Therefore, the cooking space lies between 1 cubic foot to 2.5 cubic feet.
